Since making her debut, Jade Cargill has been unstoppable. She’s got a 61-0 record in AEW, having never lost a traditional match in her entire career. Many of these victories have been over the TBS Championship, which has seen her defeat the likes of Nyla Rose, Athena, Willow Nightingale, Ruby Soho and more.
One name who has fallen to Cargill is Taya Valkyrie, but that was only because of legal action banning her finisher. Tonight, the Ride to Valhalla is perfectly legal – and could be the trick to ending Jade’s incredible streak.
Taya Valkyrie Fails To Take Down The Unbeatable Champion
Taya would immediately look for Ride of Valhalla – but Jade was able to counter. This would get physical with Taya hitting a shoulder tackle and sliding lariat, with Jade rolling to the floor. Taya would soar, but Jade used Mark Sterling as a shield. The big pump kick would follow, a major blow for Jade.
Taya would try to regain control, but took a snap suplex on the floor, before firing back with a huge spinebuster. Jade would stretch Taya in the ring but was unable to get a submission, before being dropped with a big lariat. Blue Thunder Bomb would land, getting Taya a near fall.
Jade would try to take flight, but was caught in the air with a codebreaker. Taya would hit a Curb Stomp – but Jade was able to kick out, but one of her weakest kickouts in her career.
A roll up would fail to get Jade the win, and Taya hit the Spear and Ride to Valhalla – with Jade somehow kicking out. Pump Kick & Jaded would follow, and Jade remains champion and moves to 60-0.
Jade Cargill Finally Falls As Kris Statlander Becomes TBS Champion
After the match, it would be declared that there is no one left for Jade to face so there’s an open challenge for anyone to try to beat Jade tonight – only for the music of Kris Statlander to hit.
Back from injury, Statlander would march to the ring and accept this match. The bell would ring, and Statlander dodged the Pump Kick, and went for a brainbuster.
Jade was able to block and go for Jaded, but instead took the Sunday Night Fever – and Kris Statlander becomes the second ever TBS Champion. She’s the first to ever beat Cargill, and 1 in 60-1. History has been made, and Statlander has made a statement on her return.
