Sol Ruca has shown her impressive skills over the last few weeks, but tonight is her biggest test to date. Following a recent match against Indi Hartwell, we’d see the NXT return of Elektra Lopez – who took aim at the promising rookie. Tonight, they meet in a singles match – the first match of Lopez as she seeks to find her own identity.
Elektra Lopez Proves She Can Stand On Her Own
Ruca would start fast with some strikes, before blocking a hip toss into a sit out facebuster. Lopez would roll out to the floor, and was able to drop Ruca with a lariat when she went out to gather her opponent. Back in the ring, Lopez would keep the pressure on with some knee smashes to the back – before a rear chinlock.
Ruca would block in a roll up, before some running lariats and a dropkick. Lopez was on the ropes, before a stiff jumping shoulder tackle would send her into the corner. Front handspring splash would follow, before Lopez would hit the Electric Shock – slamming Ruca into the middle of the ring for the dominant finish.
After the bell, Indi Hartwell would rush Lopez from behind – not forgetting the attack from two weeks ago. Hartwell is similarly trying to find herself as a singles star, and this could be a key match for both ladies.
Duke Hudson Threw In The Towel – Saving Andre Chase
Chase U has had some recent turmoils, but the attack fromm Charlie Dempsey to Andre Chase was the most danger they’ve ever seen. Duke Hudson would save Chase from further damage last week – but tonight Chase looks to lay down a teachable moment to Dempsey as they meet one on one. When they met three months ago, Chase would slip out with a flash pinfall – which might not work a second time.
Dempsey would quickly grab a cravate – with Chase able to slip free and launch him with a monkey flip before a lariat to the floor. Hudson & Thea Hail were cheering him on from ringside, and he’d join them as he chopped the chest of Dempsey. Back into the ring, Dempsey would almost work his way into a Kimura Lock – but Chase rolled free.
Some swift jabs would be followed by the Russian Leg Sweep and the Chase U stomps. Dempsey would get the ankle pick before looking for the Regal Stretch. Thea would be waving a white towel about – and Hudson would throw it into the ring, allowing Dempsey to get the win.
Stacks Proves Himself Once Again
When Stacks went toe to toe with Shinsuke Nakamura, he earned a lot of respect from Tony D’Angelo and the fans of NXT. Even in defeat, his stock rose rather quickly – and tonight, he hopes to get a big win. His opponent is none other than Hank Walker, a security guard turned professional wrestler. Walker is a tough customer, and Stacks will need to work hard to not take an unneeded loss, losing the good faith his Don has in him.
Stacks would start this one as a brawl as this one began, with Hank being forced into the corner. He’d turn things around – launching Stacks across the ring. Stacks came back with a jumping uppercut before being thrown from the ring. Hank would get yanked head first into the top rope, allowing for Stacks to hit some heavy blows on the mat back in the ring.
A knee to the jaw would get a near fall for Stacks, before Hank would nail a powerful lariat. Thesz Press into some right hands would follow, before Stacks would be launched across the ring with a shoulder tackle. Running body presses would follow, before Hank yanked Stacks from the mat and into a slam.
A thumb to the eye and the knee drop curb stomp would follow – Stacks needing to bend the rules to get the win, but a win is a win. Should Tony D’Angelo hire Hank Walker as private security? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
