Rumours of The Elite’s demise were greatly exaggerated. Blackpool Combat Club had taken them down one by one, even taking down Don Callis and ex-member Hangman Page. However, after defeating Micheal Nakazawa & Brandon Cutler – Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta were beaten down by Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks.
Moxley barely avoided being stabbed by Omega – showing just how heated this feud has gotten. Tonight, we hear from The Elite – and Blackpool Combat Club need to listen closely.
Konosuke Takeshita Comes To The Aid Of The Elite
Kenny Omega was all business as he hit the ring, microphone in hand. Omega has had a few rough weeks, and that is because Blackpool Combat Club showed their true colours.
He’s been having trouble sleeping, just seeing that screwdriver stabbed into the turnbuckle, dreaming about removing it and stabbing Moxley. Omega would call Blackpool Combat Club out, but Bryan Danielson wasn’t about to fall into that trap.
Danielson would distract on the big screen as Moxley, Castagnoli & Yuta attacked from behind. Moxley would choke out Omega, but The Young Bucks took out Castagnoli & Yuta.
It was an all out brawl, and the crowd was eating it up – fully behind The Elite. Matt Jackson hit the Locomotion Northern Lights Suplexes on Yuta, before Omega hit Yuta with a chair.
Moxley would get another choke on Omega, with Omega able to break free – throwing Moxley into the barricade. Omega would use some hockey fight tactics, pulling Moxley’s shirt over his face before some uppercuts.
Yuta & Castagnoli would take out The Young Bucks in the ring, with Omega making the save before Moxley hit the Death Rider.
Danielson would come out and call everyone a bunch of amateurs. Don Callis was armed with a steel chair and was sent running by the sight of Danielson. Danielson had the screwdriver, but Callis had backup with Konosuke Takeshita – who properly made the save. He’d protect Omega, with Danielson fleeing as Moxley & Yuta were taken out.
Wardlow Brings A Horseman Into His Corner For TNT Championship Match
Since winning the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match, Powerhouse Hobbs has been on a major hot streak. Aligning with QT Marshall, Hobbs has claimed the TNT Championship in a No DQ match from Wardlow. Since then he’s managed some title defences against both members of The Lucha Bros.
Now, the former champion Wardlow is back and looking for revenge. Last week, Wardlow would destroy the car of Hobbs – and tonight looks to become a three time TNT Champion. Looking to even the odds, Wardlow has called in some aid tonight – with Arn Anderson in his corner.
Warlow would drive Hobbs into the corner as this match began, with Hobbs fighting back with a trio of Belly to Belly Suplexes. Hobbs would be sent from the ring by a pounce, before being whipped into the barricade. Wardlow would send Hobbs to the crowd with a lariat, and followed him for a brawl.
The referee would give them a lot of wiggle room, not wanting this match to be thrown out. Wardlow wanted a powerbomb onto the barricade, but was sent back to ringside with a back body drop – landing on his feet. They’d trade heavy blows around ringside, with Wardlow ran into the steel steps.
Wardlow Becomes Three Time TNT Champion
Back into the ring, Hobbs would be taken down with a double leg – with Wardlow hitting some clubbing blows. Hobbs would set up a superplex, with Wardlow able to fight free – tossing Hobbs to the mat and flying down with a Jeff Hardy style Swanton Bomb. Wardlow was slow to follow up, but was able to run Hobbs down with a lariat.
Hobbs was tossed with a series of German Suplexes, before Wardlow tried for a Jackhammer. Wardlow was countered, but a headbutt and wind up lariat would drop Hobbs.
Wardlow was distracted by The QTV crew, with QT hitting a Diamond Cutter. Hobbs followed up with a spinebuster – but it was not enough to put Wardlow down.
Anderson would send Marshall running, and Penta El Zero Meido would hit a superkick. QT took an Anderson DDT – and this match was back to Hobbs & Wardlow.
Wardlow would hit his first powerbomb, with a second quickly following. A third powerbomb was set, and that was enough to make him a three time TNT Champion!
Following this, the music of Christian Cage would hit – and Luchasaurus was the one looking for a title shot. Wardlow would stare them down, ready to any challenge.
