Tony Khan had a long week last Wednesday, meeting with the likes of Miro & Thunder Rosa in his office. He came to the conclusion that Dynamite & Rampage simply were not enough to meet the screentime demands of his roster. Tonight, Khan intends to answer a solution to this problem, in what could be the biggest announcement in the history of All Elite Wrestling.
Tony Khan Announces Cities For Debut Of Month Of AEW Saturday Night Collision
Earlier today, AEW Saturday Night Collision would be announced – debuting on June 17th. Following this debut, Collision will be going on tour through Canada. The debut episode has yet to have it’s location announced, but a front runner is Chicago.
Rumours of a brand split with CM Punk returning to be the main draw on AEW Saturday Night Collision have circulated for months – and should the show debut in Chicago? Punk being part would simply make sense. We will have to wait and see how this pans out, but it’s setting up to be a great debut for this new show.
Chris Jericho & Roderick Strong Won’t Leave It All In The Ring
Chris Jericho made things personal with Adam Cole recently, when he worked alongside The Outcasts to beat down Britt Baker while Cole was handcuffed to the ropes. Jericho would be attacked by Cole two weeks ago after an eight man tag team match, and got a restraining order.
However, he doesn’t have an order keeping AEW’s newest star in Roderick Strong away – and Strong is ready to fight for Cole tonight. It’s Falls Count Anywhere, with the Jericho Appreciation Society & Adam Cole kept away, it will prove who the better man truly is.
Jericho would take a jumping knee to the face before even getting his jacket off before Strong hit some running elbow smashes. Strong would trade chops with Jericho, before a modified Angle Slam for a near fall on the former AEW World Champion. Jericho would battle to the apron, where he took a back drop onto the apron – getting Strong a two count on the floor.
Strong would keep the lethal strikes coming with a chop to the chest. Back in the ring, Strong looked for a double knee gutbuster, with Jericho able to counter into the Walls of Jericho. Having a similar submission in his arsenal, Strong knew that he needed to make it to the ropes for a chance at survival.
Out on the floor, Strong & Jericho would battle into the crowd – where Jericho threw a trash can at the head of Strong. Strong fought back, launching Jericho onto a handrail ribs first. They’d battle up to the top of the arena, and into the concussions area. AEW fans would cheer Jericho on as he hit a suplex through a table for a two count.
Adam Cole Was Waiting For His Chance To Strike
Strong would use hand sanitizer to blind Jericho, before using a counter for a backbreaker. Jericho would be pulled along with a headlock, before breaking free and using a post to drive Strong into the wall. They’d find more stairs, with Jericho nearly thrown down them – saved only by a platform. Jericho hit a running cross chop, and got a two count in the stairwell.
Strong would use some plastic forks to stun Jericho before more heavy chops, before getting ice cream shoved into his face. Unable to see, Jericho was defenceless against the strikes of Strong, and was throwing blind strikes before throwing another trash can at Strong.
This would become a street fight as they left the arena, with Cole waiting outside. Cole was banned from the building, not the surrounding grounds. Strong had led Jericho right into a trap, and Jericho took The Boom in the dirt and a jumping knee from Strong- granting Strong his first singles win in AEW.
