AEW Dynamite is live once again tonight. We here at the Overtimer will be giving you the same in-depth coverage you’ve come to expect. Segment 1: In the first match of the night, Cody Rhodes squared off with Joey Janela. It was largely a striking match which suited them both pretty well. Handshakes before and after the match, Cody ended up getting the win with a Cross-Rhodes.
Segment 2: We see a video putting over the women’s division, focusing on the champion Nyla Rose and her top challengers Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida and Penelope Ford. Nyla Rose herself makes her return with a squash match victory over Kenzie Paige.
Segment 3: MJF cuts a promo talking himself up and responding to critics who compare him disparagingly to past legends of the pro wrestling business. Shawn Spears berates Cody for letting Lance Archer destroy Dustin Rhodes last week and not throw in the towel when he had the chance. It was then announced that MJF and Jungleboy would be facing off at Double or Nothing.
Segment 4: AEW World Champion Jon Moxley faces off with Frankie Kazarian in a non-title match. He got the win after a gutty fight but afterwards Brodie Lee attacked Mox and made a challenge. Moxley accepted but the Dark Order beat him down all the same and Brodie ended up making off with Moxley’s title.
Segment 5: Lance Archer defeated QT Marshall in a match that involved Britt Baker attacking QT with a shoe only for Brandi to pull it away from her. Afterwards Britt attacks Brandi and throws her into the ring where Jake Roberts drapes a snake over her knocked out body.
Segment 6: The main event saw Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara take on Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy in a Street Fight. It’s a wild brawl that spills to the outside, through the building and even encroaching into the TIAA Bank Field! Thanks to help from Jake Hager, Santana and Ortiz, as most of the Elite was still in quarantine, the Inner Circle got the victory.
