Last night at ROH Final Battle: End Of An Era, there was a weird moment following the excellent eight man tag between Violence Unlimited & Eli Isom, EC3, Tracy Williams and Taylor Trust. EC3 took the microphone, and cut a largely incoherent promo about taking back wrestling and controlling your narrative. Fans went from confused to excited when this led to a Monster Among Men hitting the ring. Adam Scherr was in the house, and aligned with EC3 & Wesley Blake. This was the first big appearance from Scherr following his run in WWE as Braun Strowman – and now he’s ready to get back to tearing fools apart in the ring.
2021 Was A Slow Year Following His WWE Release
It was a slow year for Scherr following his WWE release. While he had a lot of hype, and would even meet with Impact Wrestling’s Scott D’Amore – nothing really happened. Instead, he settled into a new home and worked two indy matches.
The first was a cinematic match with his pal EC3, and the second came with GLCW Blizzard Brawl 2021 – where he teamed with EC3 to defeat Jake Something & Rohit Raju. Blizzard Brawl was a special one, where Scherr donated all the money he would have made to helping the town of Waukesha, Wisconsin recover from a horrific attack on a Christmas Parade.
Already Taking His First Date For 2022, More To Come From Adam Scherr
Now, things are starting to pick up – as Scherr has already taken his first booking for 2022. He will be appearing for North East Wrestling on January 22nd. NEW is a fairly big promotion as far as indies go, and has seen names such as Jon Moxley appear in the past. Scherr has the potential to have a huge 2022, if he takes enough dates – or even just smart ones.
The indies are starting to enter another boom period, between all the talent WWE & ROH released, and with AEW allowing their names to take outside bookings. Companies like House of Glory & Game Changer Wrestling are really taking off, and Scherr could find himself getting dates everywhere once he gets some steam behind him.
