AEW Rampage Results: Best Friends Defeat Superkliq In Fast Paced Eight Man Tag, Men Of The Year Beat Down Cody & Dustin Rhodes(12/17)

Adam Cole & The Young Bucks have been holding the ground of The Elite since Kenny Omega took some time off. Add in Bobby Fish, and they are a deadly target. This has led to them taking the fight to Best Friends, and even with Trent back – they stood tall last week. Tonight, with Rocky Romero joining the fight, we have potentially one of the best eight man tag team matches we’ll have all year!

Adam Cole Has No Time For Orange Cassidy

Chuck Taylor & Matt Jackson would start up, with Matt quickly going for a backdrop and failing, before Chuck nailed standing Sliced Bread for a two count. He’d get a shot on Nick on the apron, before getting the blind tag to Rocky Romero who got the step up hurricanrana. Bobby Fish tagged in and nailed some strikes before taking a dropkick.

Orange Cassidy would tag in and help with the Forever Lariats… very slowly. Adam Cole would tag in, picking up their issues before letting Nick into the match. Nick would get a big tightrope walk armdrag, before OC showed that he can do that too – with one hand in his pocket!

He’d hit an armdrag and monkey flip with his hands in pockets, before Adam Cole rushed in and beat OC down. Trent would be slammed down on his neck, before Superkliq would hit a three way superkick. Bobby Fish would enforce the isolation of OC with some of his kicks, before a dragon screw and the sliding lariat.

Trent Is Back And Better Than Ever

A slingshot senton got two, and Matt would be tagged in. The Young Bucks nailed a combo splash, before Cole got the Camel Clutch. Young Bucks were pulled out, and OC kissed the cheek of Cole instead. OC would just miss the tag as The Young Bucks yanked Chuck & Rocky off the apron and Cole nailed the Shining Wizard. Panama Sunrise was blocked, and Trent would tag in.

His first time legal in the ring in almost a year would see him run down the Superkliq, before a senton on the apron to Cole and a spear to Fish on the outside. He’d hit a diving splash to the back of Nick Jackson, before Roppoingi Vice would hit a double knee strike. Nick was hung up on the top rope, and Rocky nailed a dropkick to set up a running knee.

Trent & Chuck took a second to hug before hitting the Sole Food–-Half & Half Combo, before Nick would drop Trent on his head. A superkick party with a knee drop brainbuster from Superkliq, and a diving splash from Fish would just barely miss the win.

Trent would be taken down with a Falcon Arrow from the top rope — but OC made the save. Cole would hit a pump kick before being taken down, and after Young Bucks dove the outside — he’d soar onto them. Back in the ring, Trent nailed Crunchy on Bobby Fish for the win!

A ton of talent here, with everyone looking to get their moment and succeeding. It’s hard to make an eight man tag and keep things steady, but these eight were able to achieve this. Match Rating: 3.75/5 (*** 3/4)

Men Of The Year Get The Best Of The Rhodes Brothers

After Full Gear saw him get defeated by The Inner Circle, Dan Lambert took some time away to regroup. Tonight, he’s back alongside Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky – and as always he’s got a microphone in hand and too much to say.

He doesn’t want to be infront of AEW fans, but wasn’t letting Tony Conman & Cody Rhodes screw Men of The Year out of chances for the TNT Championship. Tony wears a lot of hats, but he’s a two faced snake. He promised that AEW would allow the talent to be pushed on their merits, and this is how he started.

Now, he’s turning AEW into late 90’s WCW — and stabbing fans in the back. He’s letting EVP’s like Rhodes run wild, and letting him make horrible reality shows. Rhodes would hit the ring after his overly dramatic entrance and a mixed reaction.

Without Arn Anderson to keep him calm, he’d snatch the microphone, before Lambert stole it back. This went back and forth for a minute, before Rhodes just attacked Scorpio Sky. Dustin Rhodes evened the odds, and got a great reaction unlike his brother… only to be stomped out. Sammy Guevara would finally make the save and clean house.

Who will win between Cody Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara match next week on a Christmas Night Rampage? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
