While they have only been in the professional wrestling industry for a short while, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) are already the number two promotion in the United States, behind WWE. Because of this, they are doing their best to maintain that spot in the face of COVID-19. With their weekly show AEW Dynamite being their main platform, and not needing to have taped nearly as much content as WWE does to fill their 5 weekly shows, they have reportedly taped potentially months of original matches to keep things steady. The content was taped from the gym of QT Marshall, in Georgia.
The Major Draw Right Now Is The TNT Championship Tournament
Starting this Wednesday, we will see the first round of the AEW TNT Championship tournament. Eight of the top stars in AEW will compete in a single elimination tournament, with the winner being the first ever TNT Champion. Cody Rhodes, Shawn Spears, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, Dustin Rhodes, Kip Sabian, Lance Archer & Colt Cabana make up the field of what should be a fantastic tournament. AEW previously impressed with their tag team tournament, which was won by S.C.U, and there were major shockers like Young Bucks being taken out in round one by Private Party. This tournament alone should sustain AEW for a few weeks.
Matt Hardy vs. Chris Jericho
Another major angle for AEW in the coming months, and one that has insane potential is Matt Hardy & Chris Jericho. The veterans of sports entertainment have already been delivering much needed laughs, but also have the potential for a dangerous match. The Painmaker & Damascus are dangerous essences, and their clash will be one for the ages. Until then, Chris Jericho is going to do everything he can to recruit Vanguard-1 into The Inner Circle.
The Dark Order Could Take Over
With Brodie Lee now at the helm of the mysterious cult, their tone has changed into something deadly. In these times of uncertainty, they could be the ones to wreck havoc in AEW and take some gold. Evil Uno & Stu Greyson are the top contenders for the AEW Tag Team Champions already, so if Kenny Omega & Hangman Page were at the tapings, there could be another tag team classic waiting to be aired.
