We’re just a few days away from the next All Elite Wrestling (AEW) PPV event, Double Or Nothing. While we know the full card for the show, AEW had two secrets up their sleeve. The first is the Wildcard entrant in the Casino Battle Royale, and the second is much less of a high risk secret. That was the match that will come during the Buy In for Double Or Nothing 2021, and now thanks to AEW italian commentator Salvatore Torrisi, we know who will be in action. We’re getting a defense of the NWA Women’s Championship, as Serena Deeb takes on Riho.
Serena Deeb & Riho Have Clashed Once Before
Right now, Hikaru Shida is the top woman in AEW as their women’s champion, but Serena Deeb could be ready to take that peak at any given moment. Deeb is the current NWA Women’s Champion, while Shida is the AEW Women’s Champion. These facts could both change come Sunday, as Shida takes on Britt Baker and Deeb takes on Riho.
We last saw Riho take on Deeb during the AEW Women’s World Championship eliminator tournament, where Riho was able to break past Deeb in the first round. Riho would go on to lose to Thunder Rosa in the second round, but in beating the NWA Women’s Champion? She earned a title shot. Deeb had to take some time off to mend an injury, but she proved that she was back and as good as ever during a title defense against Red Velvet this past week on AEW Dynamite.
AEW Giving Show Stealing Matches Away On The Buy-In
While many fans view things like the WWE preshows and the AEW buy-ins as an extended preview for the shows. You’ll find the video packages for the big matches, but those often might not be enough to push a fan who is on the fence if they should buy the show or not. Riho vs. Serena Deeb is the level of high level match that could convince a fan to buy the PPV, a perfect use of the spot.
It’s a match that is too close to call this early on, but Deeb is unlikely to drop an NWA championship on AEW programming. She’s likely to get the win back over Riho, and will tie their series at 1-1. However, anything can happen in professional wrestling. Will Riho win the NWA Women’s Championship at Double or Nothing?
