The Country Boy Kentucky Heavyweight Championship Tournament – “Hood Ninja” Hy-Zaya w/Charles Booker defeated Atiba w/Tony Vanetti by pinfall
This one had potential with both being trained in martial arts, so it was a little odd to see them go from fighting stances into lockups and arm drag takedowns to start.
Atiba gained the early advantage with a dropkick and stayed in control through reversals until Hy-Zaya hit a leg lariat and headed to the top rope to hit a swanton for the win.
After the match, Vanetti offered his hand to Hy-Zaya and they and Booker celebrated.
The Good Word
Reverend Ronnie Roberts welcomed up to the Good Word. He said he started this segment to help solve the problems in OVW, and there’s someone backstage that’s covetous and lustful.
He then introduced Luscious Lawrence.
Lawrence called for some love to be spread about, and Roberts said he’s there to talk about something else. He asked why Lawrence didn’t have “HollyHood” Haley J in his corner last week.
Lawrence said he loves her, but Roberts said he heard he’s jealous of her.
Lawrence said she became a champion once joining with him, and he said it’s just business.
Tony Bizo interrupted his promo over the screen, and Haley J grabbed the mic and said Lawrence has a bimbo and pointed out we’ll see what he can do without her in his corner against Bizo.
Kal Herro’s reinstated
A recap of Kal Herro’s reinstatement and match against Tony Gunn where Herro scored an upset win. Tony Gunn promised to put an end to Kal Herro when they meet in the Country Boy Kentucky Championship Tournament
OVW Women’s Championship – “HollyHood” Haley J (c) defeated “Double A” Aerie Alexander by pinfall to retain her championship
The match was even early on as they jockeyed for position, but things picked up after Haley slapped Aerie and Aerie took it to her.
Haley pulled her into the turnbuckle, and then stomped her into the bottom turnbuckle before hitting a couple of snap suplexes.
Aerie hit a TKO, but Haley hit her with a sock of rocks when the ref’s back was turned for the win.
The Country Boy Kentucky Heavyweight Championship Tournament – “The Fanny Pack Kid” Kal Herro w/Maria Montgomery defeated Jake Omen w/JD Shelbourne by pinfall
Jake Omen took control early and hammered away on Kal Herro with blows, a clothesline, and a snap suplex for a pin attempt.
Herro made a comeback with some jitterbug punches as Tony Gunn came out and grabbed JD Shelbourne’s guitar.
Herro survived an attack from behind to hit a Jitterbug kick for the win.
“The Complete Package” Tony Bizo w/”The Professor” Ricky Jones defeated Luscious Lawrence by pinfall
Lawrence didn’t want to waste any time as he ran in and went right after Bizo and hit a body slam, then threw him into a corner and hit a hit attack and backed it up multiple times.
Bizo took over with a spinebuster and then hit a kick and chocked Lawrence out on the ropes.
Lawrence regained the advantage after he knocked Bizo to the floor with a hip attack, but Bizo quickly regained control.
Lawrence hit a clothesline and a swing before backing it up and putting the squeeze on.
Lawrence hit his One Night Stand Powerslam and Haley J came out with chocolates and a teddy bear to make up. He took the bear and hugged her, then she hit him with her sock of rocks for Bizo to pin him.
This was a fun match and we can’t wait to see what’s next in their feud.
