An Australian bakery is drawing mixed reactions for a particularly controversial dessert inspired by the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial. Dessert Boxes shared a box made for Amber Heard that featured a hand-shaped doughnut with a finger chopped off. It was then placed in the box with a small bottle of vodka.

The video went viral on Tiktok with over 617,000 views, over 17,000 likes, and comments nearing 560 at the time of this posting. Obviously, the box is a reference to Depp’s finger injury in Australia testimony and Heard’s testimony that she’d been attacked by the Pirates of the Caribbean star with a bottle of vodka.
For those who can’t watch the video at the moment, the audio included:
“We’re sending Amber Heard a dessert box. We’ll cut off the finger with a vodka bottle, throw that in for her, too.
And we’ll send Johnny Depp this piece.”
Dessert Boxes captioned the video with “Will she like it?”, the crying laughing emoji, and the tags “#amberheard #justiceforjohnnydepp #amberheardjohnnydepp #dessertboxes #funny #donuts”.
Some viewers found the short clip funny but most did not care for it in the comments. The top comment by Megan Anderson asked “This ment to be funny????” while commenter zara said, “That’s not OK.” Mozzz would simply state “Read the room.”
Commenters who found the video funny included xx_CaitlinMaree_xx who @’d another user and said “savages. I love their energy” to which Dessert Boxes responded with “We had to” and more laughing emojis.
Then you had a couple of users who were on some weird sh** such as didi who commented “missed the perfect opportunity to poison the donut </3”.
Basically, what you have is people who have taken sides in the case who either didn’t find the video funny because this is a trial is focused on domestic violence incidents from both parties and a couple who just love…dark humor.
