Breaking Bad star Dean Norris has blasted American citizens who have been complaining over the increasing gas prices.
Breaking Bad Star Dean Norris Tells Americans To ‘STFU’ And Not Complain About Increasing Gas Prices
According to reports, gas prices reached a record $5 per gallon in the US with many people feeling the pinch.
While it would have been natural to express sympathy with those who were struggling to make ends meet, the very fact of the matter is that Dean was far from being in a compassionate mood.
In fact, he went on the offensive by attacking such people by stating that this is the reality of capitalism. In his comments, he said: “You’re not getting ‘robbed’ at the pump.
“You’re paying fair market price for a commodity. If you love Capitalism so much then stfu.” Nevertheless, Dean’s comments have to be placed within some much-needed context.
First of all, Dean is hardly going to be short of money. So much so that reports stress he has a net worth of $5 million. Therefore, the increasing gas prices are hardly going to impact him.
Secondly, Dean’s comments could inadvertently be taken as being condescending towards those that were having to make tough choices within their lives. Lastly, in any event, Dean’s comments may not be the same if he was feeling the pinch.
It is not surprising, then, that a lot of people had something to say on this matter. A significant proportion of fans blasted Dean for his tone-deaf comments. Meanwhile, others began to mock the actor in his own right.
One person wrote: “Oh, so the celeb with millions in his pocket is gonna tell the “common folk” to deal with the rising gas prices? Fuck off.”
While another person stated: “Shocking: Hollywood actor is a narcissistic elitist d-bag!” Dean’s comments clearly did not go down well with the majority of people, who have felt the impact of the increasing prices.
And that is not going to change anytime soon. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
