A California man was accused of performing unlicensed cosmetic procedures and impersonating a doctor. His target were Latinas seeking Botox work and other cosmetic procedures that definitely require a medical license of some kind.
California Man Charged with Impersonating a Doctor While Performing Unlicensed Botox Procedures on Spanish-Speaking Women
Elias Segoviano (61) is one of many shady practitioners offering Botox injections at affordable prices throughout the U.S and the world if our previous reports of surgical nightmares are any indication.
In addition to Botox injections, Segoviano also performed thread lifts and handled the anesthetic. The concern here isn’t only in him performing the procedures but with the nature of the Botox and medications used.
The dubious doctor used TikTok and Facebook to promote his business and also used the name “Dr. Elias Renteria” while he has had businesses such as “Botox in Anaheim” and “Threads in Anaheim.” Several names were used based on what was offered and the location since 2019.
It was at Botox in Anaheim where he was arrested on July 19, 2022. Segoviano was charged with one misdemeanor count of misrepresenting self as a licensed medical practitioner, unauthorized practice of medicine, a felony count of false identification of a medical license, among a stacked number of related felonies and misdemeanors.
Should he be convicted on all charges—and there are a lot of them—he is looking at a little over five years behind bars. Currently, Elias Segoviano is being held on $1 million bail.
