Tony D’Angelo was put on the sidelines with an injury recently, but it takes a lot to keep The Don down. Considering it was Wes Lee who put him on the shelf, D’Angelo has taken aim at the new NXT North American Champion. This could put him at odds with Dijak, which is something D’Angelo will figure out in time. Tonight, D’Angelo is focused on his return to the ring – the rest can be figured out later.
Tony D’Angelo Is Back And Better Than Ever
The Don’s return opponent is The It Factor of NXT, Xyon Quinn. D’Angelo has been out of action for 10 weeks, but was looking as ready as ever. Quinn was taken into a headlock, before shoving D’Angelo off into a shoulder tackle.
A spear into the corner would be followed by some shoulder tackles from Quinn, before D’Angelo shoved his way free and hit a stiff lariat. Some stiff punches to the midsection would be followed by a Fisherman Suplex, before Quinn named the Samoan Drop. D’Angelo would come back with a Spinebuster and a spin out Uranage for the statement finish.
After the match, he’d ask Stacks if he saw any rust in the ring – but there was none. That’s why he’s The Don of NXT, and while he was out of the ring, he set up some new connections. However, he was motivated by the concept of revenge against Wes Lee.
Lee would come out to welcome D’Angelo back to NXT, and said he had his eyes on D’Angelo as a potential challenger this whole time. However, he has unfinished business with Dijak – and D’Angelo was asked to wait in line. D’Angelo says he waits for no one, before Dijak appears on the screen – telling Lee to leave his name out of his mouth, and their neither of them can stop him from tearing NXT down.
Hank Walker Learns The Definition Of Pain Thanks To Charlie Dempsey As Drew Gulak Watches
NXT has a major problem backstage, and his name is Charlie Dempsey. The NXT UK import is already one of the most feared men in the ring, and it takes a brave man to call him out. Hank Walker is that kind of man, and tonight will go one on one with Dempsey. Walker is a straight forward brawling heavyweight, which could be a bad match against someone who can turn his own power against him like Dempsey.
Dempsey is of course the son of William Regal, and practically grew up in a ring. Walker would force him into the corner, before being taken into a headlock. Dempsey would move into the Kimura, before being scooped up with a slam. Walker would be slung into the corner face first, before another Kimura would be applied on the floor.
Smackdown Live star Drew Gulak would come to ringside, taking the focus on Dempsey briefly. Walker would be able to break out of the Kimura before a running body block in the ring. The big boot was blocked into a Dragon Screw, before Dempsey went after the knee on the mat. Walker would be taken into a variant of the STF, and Gulak looked impressed before walking off.
