Swerve Strickland might have gone too far last week, when he attacked Nick Wayne in his backyard gym – leaving him a bloody mess.
AR Fox was also there, helping in the assault, all to send a message to Darby Allin. Tonight, we hear from Swerve & The Mogul Embassy – as they’re given a chance to justify their actions.
Swerve Stickland Gets Challenged For All In
Prince Nana would tell the crowd to shut their faces, and listen to Swerve. They flew to Seattle to put the fear of god in Nick Wayne, and said that the Mogul Embassy is above the law. Seattle especially is Swerve’s house, and he’s untouchable there.
AR Fox would call out Darby Allin, who would come to the stage – saying that he did everything he could for Fox. He had to leave after seeing Fox at his worst, knowing that the only man who could help Fox was himself.
Fox would make his way to AEW on his own ability, and if he’s mad that Allin made a call to Tony Khan to get Wayne hired – then he needs to accept that.
Allin would point out how Fox has some new friends, but Allin has friends too. Sting would return, beating down the Mogul Embassy with a bat.
Swerve would be left alone in the ring with Sting – who pointed at the sign for All In, before sending Swerve running. The match would be confirmed, putting Swerve Stickland & AR Fox against Sting & Darby Allin in a Coffin Match.
Anna Jay Look For The Biggest Win Of Her Career
Hikaru Shida ended the 200th episode of AEW Dynamite in a huge way, defeating Toni Storm to become a two time AEW Women’s World Champion.
Having held the belt during the pandemic era of AEW, and losing to Britt Baker on the first PPV with fans back – Shida has limited time carrying this belt in front of fans.
Tonight, she will defend her newly won belt against Anna Jay – someone who has yet to hold a championship in professional wrestling. Add in that The Outcasts are never far and looking for revenge, and Shida has a lot on her plate as she adjusts to becoming a champion once again.
Jay was backed by Matt Menard & Angelo Parker, despite the Jericho Appreciation Society being dead – their friendship remains.
Shida would trade slaps with Jay in the middle of the ring before missing an Enziguri – with Jay trying for the Queenslayer. Shida was able to slip free before hitting a jumping knee strike.
Another jumping knee would follow in the corner, before Shida hit some big downward punches. Jay would escape from behind, shoving Shida to the apron where Menard & Parker got in her face.
Back in the ring, Shida took a kick to the jaw – before being choked in the corner. Menard & Parker were not getting physically involved, but with them barking at ringside – Shida had a hard time focusing.
Hikaru Shida Unsheathes The Katana
Jay would set up a neckbreaker in the middle of the ring, getting a two count. Shida would be able to recover and hit a sliding forearm smash, only to take a back heel kick from Jay. On the floor, Shida would set up a chair as a launch pad for the knee – with Parker & Menard forming a human wall.
Jay took advantage with a Reverse STO into the ring steps, before applying the Queenslayer in the ring. Shida would fight the hold before being choked in the middle of the ring.
Jay would lose the grip, and Shida made it to the ropes. Another Queenslayer was applied, but Shida climbed the ropes and broke the hold.
Falcon Arrow in the middle of the ring would set up the Katana Knee Strike – and Shida was able to get the victory. She remains the champion and will be heading to All In to defend the championship in a Fatal Four Way.
Shida will be joined by Toni Storm, and two more potential opponents. Skye Blue faces Saraya while Britt Baker faces The Bunny.
