Wardlow has been all but unstoppable in AEW – and tonight has another chance to show this. He faces one of the newest members of the New Japan Pro Wrestling faction “CHAOS” in Wheeler Yuta. Yuta could outwrestle Wardlow every day of the week and twice on Sundays, but only if he’s not smashed into the mat first.
Wardlow Crushes Wheeler Yuta, Hardy Family Office Picks The Bones
He’d rush in with some dropkicks, getting the jump on Wardlow and playing this one smart. However, one mistake – one stumble, and Wardlow slammed him. From that point onward, he’d nail a huge powerbomb and crack his neck. A second powerbomb would follow, then a third. The fourth would come even faster.
If he wasn’t linked to MJF, Wardlow would be AEW World Champion by now. Yuta was set up on the top rope, and nailed with the rising knee strike. Wardlow did a mercy with ending this one finally. Maybe Yuta should enter the Young Lion program in NJPW, it might be less punishing than this match.
After the match, Isaiah Kassidy & The Blade would rush the ring. Matt Hardy wants Orange Cassidy dead, and would get one step closer with a Side Effect assisted by a steel chair. Cassidy could look for revenge at Full Gear, or sooner on Rampage.
Lio Rush & Dante Martin Steal A Win
Lio Rush is determined to prove to Dante Martin that he can do more for him than Matt Sydal ever could. Already, he’s been able to watch Martin beat Sydal in a singles match, but that night Rush wanted to be in the action. With Martin rolling with Rush, and Mike Sydal injured – Matt Sydal has brought Lee Moriarty under his wing, and tonight they take on Martin & Rush in a fast paced tag team offering.
This would be the Dynamite debut of both Moriarty & Rush, two names who could be massive for AEW. Moriarty would start with Martin, showing his technical skills. He wins in wrestling, while Martin is the faster of the two, and right now they are wrestling. All the speed isn’t worth much when a sweep drops you into a pin.
Martin would get an ankle pick and turn it into a pinfall attempt, but Moriarty came back just as fast. This could be a PPV match in a few years, hell – they’d steal the show at Full Gear if given the chance. Rush & Sydal would tag in, and Rush would try to steal another protégé. Sydal would slap him out, Moriarty hit him in the back of the head before Rush took a rolling solebutt. Rush would show his insane speed as he took Sydal down, and this one turned into an all out brawl.
The pace was slowed until Martin flew over Sydal into a sunset flip, before a major shotgun dropkick. Moriarty would drop Lio Rush with a facebuster, but only found a two count. Rush snuck out and nailed a kick to Sydal, before one to Moriarty. He was running circles around them, and a corkscrew Killswitch somehow only got two. Martin was thrown off the top by Moriarty, and had to kick out of a huge uppercut before Rush fed Martin the pin off a huge kick.
