AEW Dynamite is on again here tonight. Below you will see the results of the show as they come, plus links to in-depth recaps of each segment.
Segment 1: The Inner Circle arrive at the arena with a warning, saying what they did to Vanguard 1 will pale in comparison to what will happen to the Elite tonight. In the opening contest, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley took on 10 of the Dark Order in a non-title match. He got the victory, hitting a Double Arm DDT, a Minoru Suzuki-style Piledriver and the proper Paradigm Shift before pinning him. He then hooked a chair around his arm and threatened to break it if Brodie Lee didn’t come out and give him his title back. Brodie refused and Moxley indeed smashed 10’s arm.
Segment 2: In the next match, MJF took on Marko Stunt, as a means of getting to Marko’s partner Jungleboy ahead of their match at Double or Nothing 2020. He brutalized him for much of the match and got the submission victory with the Salt of the Earth Bar. Then for the fun of it he hit him with the Dynamite Diamond Ring, forcing Jungleboy and Luchasaurus to come out and run off MJF and Wardlow.
Segment 3: Jake Roberts and Arn Anderson have a confrontation. Arn notes that Mike Tyson will have free reign at ringside and dares Jake to try throwing his snake on him. He also threatens to hit a Spinebuster on him. The two square off and have to be separated before a fight breaks out.
Segment 4: In what ended up being a classic spectacle match, Rey Fenix defeated Orange Cassidy, getting him with a low blow after Kip Sabian distracted the referee. A big brawl kicked up afterwards with many members of the Casino Ladder Match, but Cassidy ultimately stood tall.
Segment 5: Nyla Rose and Britt Baker defeated Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander when Rose pinned the No. 1 Contender. During the match Britt was injured and had to be taken out of the contest, so this may not have been the intended finish. Afterwards Nyla attempted to put Shida through a table but thanks to Statlander this was blocked, and Shida superplexed Rose through the table instead.
Segment 6: We see a news parody called SSN, Shawn Spears News where he ‘announces’ the retirement of Dustin Rhodes, continues to mock the Rhodes family, then decides to challenge Dustin to a match at Double or Nothing.
Segment 7: In the main event, Matt Hardy defeated Sammy Guevara, only after hitting three straight Twist of Fates! The Inner Circle had Kenny Omega pinned against a goalpost though, and were beating on him until the Young Bucks appeared to take the fight to the group! A big 5-on-4 brawl ensued, until Hangman Page ran all way across the football field to clobber Jake Hager and throw Chris Jericho into the goalpost! The Elite stood tall, forcing the Inner Circle to retreat!
