Today’s episode of MLW Anthology covered Mance Warner, a charismatic young brawler who has been tearing it up in the ring and on the mic. From his Major League Wrestling debut in mid-2019, he was quick to endear himself to fans via violent, wild fights. Go on ahead, get your light beers read, it’s time for two blood brawls with Ol’ Mancer. Before the show started, there was an In Memoriam for Shad Gaspard who died earlier this week at the age of 39. After the opening for MLW Anthology—probably their best opening I’ve seen—the Contra Unit takeover video is played.  A Double…

Last week, Major League Wrestling didn’t run an episode of MLW Fusion. Around the time of their Tijuana show with Lucha Libre AAA, it was reported that MLW owner Court Bauer wasn’t keen on empty arena shows after catching WWE SmackDown. That was at a time when empty arena shows were pretty clumsy. Since then they’ve better depending on the product you watch.   Also, Major League Wrestling runs a show a month, chops it up, and uses the matches to fill in the next month of MLW Fusion. They had the footage to cover most of the spring but were pretty much out of fresh match footage after that.   MLW…

We’re at the final MLW Fusion before the quarantine kicked in. It’s the final show of the Major League Wrestling vs. Lucha Libre AAA Super Series! The score is 4-3 in favor of MLW, AAA needs this last match to tie things up. Will Psycho Clown, Psicosis, and Nino Hamburguesa pull through for AAA or will L.A Park and sons give MLW another win?   The AAA referees have been a problem for Major League Wrestling with fast counts, slow counts, and other shenanigans. Will that come into play here? We’re about to find out but first, some promo house cleaning.  Here Are Some Promos For…

Before we get into WCW Halloween Havoc 1995, I managed to watch the WCW Main Event before it. Since Main Event aired on Sundays, when there was a PPV it was always shown live. Having watched that show I can say be glad that most of these matches weren’t added to Halloween Havoc. Benoit and Malenko teaming up against the Blue Bloods would’ve been a good opener.  Let’s get into WCW Halloween Havoc 1995!  Low-Tier  Really didn’t need Savage vs. Zodiac but WCW was building to bigger match here. Kurasawa and Hawk are very familiar with each other and have tagged together in New Japan as the Power Warriors. This match…

MLW Fusion #108 had a cold open with Injustice talking about how wrestling is only just now showing them respect. They make sure to let us know that they’re the best as they’re getting a shot at the AAA World Trios belt. Also, this match was important for Lucha Libre AAA as Major League Wrestling lead the Super Series 4-2.   To make this all even, Lucha Libre AAA would have to take both this match and the main event of MLW Fusion #109! Check out the card for #108.  MLW Fusion #108 Poder Del Norte vs. Black Destiny, Rayo Star, & Fantastick AAA World Trios Titles: Jinetes Del Aire [c] vs. Injustice  Poder Del Norte vs. Black Destiny, Rayo Star, & Fantastick …

Marty Jannetty is a former WWE Intercontinental and WWE World Tag Team champion—with 1-2-3 Kid. I always thought it was odd that Jannetty never won with HBK in the Rockers. Then again, they were always depicted as being on the rise in a division that had mainly heavyweight tag teams.   When the Rockers were still together, you had the Natural Disasters, the Hart Foundation, the Nasty Boys, Demolition, the Fabulous Rougeaus, and for a couple of months: the Brain Busters. It might sound like the field was pretty crowded for the Rockers but these name teams came through at different times during that four-year period that they were…

In the U.S during the 90s there were always Saturday wrestling shows. Since Monday night was the hot night for wrestling, Saturday wasn’t going to be that exciting. Sure, you still got the unexpected match that actually stood out but you were watching the B-show stuff. It was either veterans taking on jobbers and youngsters or up-and-comers taking on jobbers.  As you’d expect, there was no jobber vs. jobber action. Who would want to see that? You’d be surprised at what some of those jobbers could do—just not in WWE or WCW in the 90s. We’re going to get into…

Five days ago, D-Von Dudley announced that he was retiring from in-ring competition. Debuting in 1992 and wrestling much of his early career as A-Train, his in-ring career spanned 24 years and resulted in 23 major tag team championships as a part of the Dudley Boyz and Team 3D with Bully Ray.  His last WWE match was during the summer of 2016. In September, he would join WWE as a producer backstage. As a result, he has been seen on weekly TV a few times. Plus, he was done in-ring almost four years ago. D-Von Dudley’s final match was in December of that…

At different times WWE might have such a large roster that not everyone gets TV time or time to develop. Someone like Armando Estrada or Brad Maddox.   In the case of Armando Estrada, they might sit on the roster and collect a check without being on television. Remember that? He still in the promotion but he hadn’t seen him for a few months before he was released. When he was finally released it was like “He was still there?! Wow!”  It happens. Before that, he had been taken off television for a period during the period where he was managing Umaga. This…
