Another episode of AEW Dark was uploaded earlier tonight. Below you can see the results, plus links to recaps of every match.
Segment 1: To open the show, Jake Hager made his AEW Dark debut against Joe Alonzo. Unsurprisingly, Hager got the victory in the shortest bout of the night.
Segment 2: Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall, the Natural Nightmares, faced off with Matt Sells and Jon Cruz. QT got the pin after a Powerslam Cutter double team maneuver.
Segment 3: For the first time Shawn Spears gave a #SearchForSpears candidate a shot when he teamed with Robert “Ego” Anthony against Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels of SCU. Throughout the match Anthony actually looked more impressive than Spears and seemed a better partner as well. Spears made several mistakes, but the first time Anthony made one, Spears bailed on the match. SCU quickly got the win from there. Then, Spears jumped his would-be partner, making it clear that he was not the one.
Segment 4: Kip Sabian took on Suge D aka Sugar Dunkerton. Suge was very slippery, escaping from Sabian’s grasp time and time again but some help from Penelope Ford neutralized that. Sabian took the win without taking too much damage.
Segment 5: Colt Cabana took on Brandon Cutler in the only match of the night between two AEW regulars. Cabana toyed with him throughout the match and threatened to make a fool of him, though Cutler ultimately did a much better job answering Cabana’s hijinks than Peter Avalon. But in the end, Colt Cabana nailed Cutler with a Bionic Elbow and got the Superman Pin for the win.
Segment 6: Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss took on Corey Hollis & Mike Reed in the final match of the night. It was acknowledged that Janela and Kiss are both from the same part of New Jersey and the oddball pairing actually seemed to get along very well, having dual poses and double teams as well as being a cohesive unit together. This paid off, as Janela and Kiss scored the victory, in what felt like the formation of a new regular tag team.
