When it comes to colorful characters in Ring of Honor, you don’t get better than Dalton Castle & Danhausen. Tonight, they will clash for the first time ever, in what should be memorable if nothing else. They crossed paths during Six Way Mayhem last night, where Castle was around on commentary to spice things up and hype up Dak Draper. Castle is a former ROH World Champion, but you can never count out Danhausen.
Dalton Castle Gets The Full Danhausen Experience
After a huge drumroll, Dalton Castle’s music would hit and he’d hit the ring with his chicks backing him up. The crowd was split on this one, wanting to cheer for both men equally. They’d argue over who the referee is, before shaking hands. Castle left the ring to get counsel from his chicks, before getting into the ring and teasing a double leg. Danhausen cursed Castle, but he’s too busy for that.
Danhausen went out of the chicks, before getting back into the ring and having Castle slide out of the ring. Finally, we’d get some action as Danhausen took Castle out with a hurricanrana, and Dak Draper was down to the ringside. Hausen wanted the kick, but would be hit from behind by Castle. Back in the ring, Castle would hit a big exploder suplex before Danhausen got three German Suplexes.
Danhausen went for the teeth and they got spilled over the ring, with the chicks trying to eat them. Thankfully Danhausen had more teeth, poured them in the mouth and hit a pump kick. Very Nice Very Kneevil was set up, but Danhausen got a roll up instead. Castle kicked out and hit Bang-A-Rang into the teeth for the win.
This was exactly what it was supposed to be. It had comedy, some wrestling, and was just a very entertaining match. Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** 1/2)
The next challenger for the Pure Title is Josh Woods, but that isn’t stopping others from climbing the ranks. Tonight, we will see World Famous CB look to continue to prove that this division was made for him, as he takes on LSG. LSG has only been in one pure division match, but that saw him take former Pure Champion to a time limit draw. Now he’s back in the division, and could be a major threat.
LSG & World Famous CB Show Pure Skill
They’d shake hands and get to grappling, with LSG showing a clear power edge as he shoved CB into the corner. A sprawl in the middle of the ring would see LSG look for an armbar, but CB got out before he could get it. CB shot for the leg, but had to get the arm instead. LSG countered a headlock takeover and rolled into the Cosmic Clutch to force a rope break.
CB would apply an escalera, and bend away at the wrist before grabbing both arms and having LSG bite the rope for a rope break. LSG would hit a short piledriver and neckbreaker in the middle of the ring for a two count. A cravat would be applied, as Caprice Coleman argued with Ken Dixon who tried to shut the match down, unsuccessfully.
LSG hit a springboard back elbow for a two count, CB hit some big chops, before rolling LSG into a superkick before a Dragon Suplex. A rope break got him free, but he only had one more, then a ripcord shotei forced LSG to use the last one. LSG fought off a sleeper hold, before hitting an Ace Crusher and Rocket Bye Baby into a Crucifix pin for the win.
A solid pure wrestling showcase, with a lot of tension in the last few moments when LSG showed the pressure of having no more rope breaks. CB & LSG are damn good, and showed that tonight. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
