For the past 295 days, Shane Taylor Promotions have ruled the trios division in Ring of Honor. Tonight, with the lineup Kaun, Moses & O’Shay Edwards – they will once again defend the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships. This time they have The Righteous, with Vincent, Bateman, and Dutch all ready to end this era of ROH with some gold.
The Righteous Take The Fight To Shane Taylor Promotions
Dutch would kick off with Moses, the two big men of this match. They’d lock up, with Dutch getting the upper hand, before Moses tried to turn his lights out with a massive elbow strike. Dutch was awake after that one, and a big brawl broke out. Vincent & Kaun would collide with crossbodies in the middle of the ring, as Bateman drove Edwards into the ringpost.
Kaun & Vincent would tag in, and pick their brawl back up – before Vincent went to the corner and nailed a knee strike. A backdrop and flatliner would do some damage to Kaun, before Vincent was dropped with a hard elbow shot. Kaun nailed the big gutbuster, before Moses tagged in to get the tight cover for a two count.
Vincent fired back with the side effect, getting the control back before Bateman tagged in. Moses would weather the attack of Bateman, and Edwards tagged in to a big reaction. These are two of the hardest strikers in ROH, but Edwards would get the German Suplex and powerbomb for a two count!
Vincent Becomes The First & Last Six Man Tag Team Champion
Vincent would get the tag and tried to take down Edwards with the Acid Drop, but Edwards fought free before being sent to the outside of the ring. The dive would land, but Kaun dove onto Vincent, and Bateman took flight next. Vita Von Starr would have a shoe thrown at her by Ron Hunt, before Moses parted the red sea with a dive and Dutch closed it out with a huge dive.
Back in the ring, a gutwrench powerbomb and the Redrum splash got a two count on Kaun, before Moses & Kaun hit the elevated DDT and Edwards nailed the moonsault for the win… or NOT! It was only two, but the timekeeper got excited and rung the bell. Bateman nailed a neckbreaker, and Dutch nailed the Black Hole Slam before Edwards got him with the spinebuster.
Vincent would get the Acid Drop – and we have finally seen Shane Taylor Promotions fall. He was part of The Kingdom who held the belts first, and with The Righteous will be the last to hold them as well.
A chaotic six man tag team match that kicked this show off hot, with the crowd red hot from the start to the end. Match Rating: 3.5/5 (*** 1/2)
Main Event Has The Stakes Raised, Rocky Romero Joins Violence Unlimited
After this match, the main event of this show, Jay Lethal vs. Jonathan Gresham is now for the ROH World Championship – and in particular, the original belt. The same belt was held by Low Ki, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Samoa Joe and more. This belt was last saw when Christopher Daniels won the belt, since he was an OG of ROH – making it fitting.
Rocky Romero was going to just do commentary tonight, but Violence Unlimited would bring him into their match tonight. They wanted to see if the pitbull had any more bite left, and he’s ready to go.
The Allure & Alize Take On Hot Mess Hex-Press
The Allure all but ruled the Women of Honor division, and with more time – they would have done the same with the new ROH Women’s division. However tonight at Final Battle, they team with the Lucha Baddie herself Miranda Alize, taking on Chelsea Green & The Hex.
Marti Belle would start off with Alize, being chopped down with quick strikes. Belle would be able to get Alize in the right corner, giving Allysin Kay her way into this match. Mandy Leon made her way in and took a neckbreaker, before Green would get a sunset flip for a two count. Alize would get control in the Allure corner, nailing a big dropkick and butterfly suplex for a two count.
Quick tags from The Allure & Alize would have Green in a bad spot, with Love finding time to taunt. Alize slapped Green from the apron, before she walked into a Complete Shot from Love. Allure set up a double superplex, but Green was able to fight her way free.
The Hex nailed “The Hex Marks The Spot” before Kay would crush Alize with a big spinebuster. Love nailed Botox Injection, but Belle got her with a forearm blow. After Alize & Leon nailed dives to the outside, Leon would nail Astral Projection for the win.
These are six of the best ROH had in their women’s division, and they made the best of their time in the ring tonight. Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** 1/2)
