It’s hard to deny that Serena Deeb has truly arrived in AEW. Becoming more sadistic the longer she refined her heel character, Deeb recently sent former AEW World Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida packing. Skye Blue fell on Dynamite, and Deeb seems keen on tearing through the entire AEW women’s roster until she has gold around her waist – and is even keeping tabs on who could be entering the company soon.
Serena Deeb Lets Some Information Slip On Future AEW Signings
While speaking on the Reese Waters Show, Serena Deeb would speak about the potential future of the AEW Women’s division. AEW has brought some major names in – and seem to be waiting to debut them. Her exact quote is as follows.
“I don’t know, if I can say names yet, but we’ve just picked up a couple of a really strong female members to the roster.”
Deeb wouldn’t give up anymore information. She gave just enough to drum up some anticipation – which was appreciated as the division is still lacking despite AEW‘s
Who Could These Strong Names Be?
This comes as several huge names from WWE are nearing the end of their non-compete clauses. One such name is Athena, the former Ember Moon. Thunder Rosa recently made it very clear how much she hopes to wrestle her in AEW, which was interesting. Rosa owns her own promotion, Mission Pro – meaning she can wrestle whoever she can book, but insisted on facing Athena on AEW TV.
Another big name that could be on their way to AEW is Mia Yim, who is expected to sign alongside her husband Keith Lee. While Yim didn’t have the best performances in WWE, and spent a while stuck in roster limbo – her skills are undeniable, being one of the best female brawlers in the game today.
These are the two biggest names that AEW can bring in. While there is some fan resentment with an overload of ‘ex-WWE’ names, AEW would be fools to ignore top talents simply due to them having worked with WWE before arriving in AEW. AEW is building up some great homegrown female stars like Anna Jay, Jade Cargill, and Red Velvet – but every division needs veterans.
