Neither man was able to find their way onto the card for Full Gear, but both Matt Sydal & Brian Cage have been on a roll lately. Sydal has won four of his last five matches, while Cage is on a four match winning streak. These are two top talents, who have met in the past with a trio of singles matches in Impact Wrestling over the X-Division Championship. Who would come out on top tonight?
Before the match, Taz would call out Darby Allin who was hanging out in the stands with the TNT Championship. If he touches that ring, he’ll get his ass kicked again, and the same goes for Cody. Cage is about to wrestle a man who has some respect, unlike Allin. He’d acknowledge the threat of Allin, but Cage could still beat him.
Brian Cage Is A Monster
Sydal & Cage would stare each other down, and Cage went right for a military press slam. He’d have Sydal slip out, but catch him in the corner with some heavy strikes. A strong belly to belly suplex would follow, throwing Sydal around. Cage followed this up with a hip toss into a backbreaker, and Sydal really had nothing yet in this match.
Another backbreaker, but only got a one count. Sydal would pop over Cage in the corner for a dropkick, then was wiped out with a lariat. Cage would do some bicep curls with Sydal, before just throwing him above his head. Another pinfall attempt, another kick out from Sydal.
Cage applied a submission, but Sydal freed himself and threw some kicks to pick away at Cage. This would work for a moment, until the power of Cage would come into play. Cage tried to hit a running hurricanrana, but Sydal countered into a powerbomb. Sydal would follow Cage to the outside with a diving meteora, and tried for the Shooting Star Press.
Matt Sydal Shows His Heart
This wouldn’t work, but some more kicks and a Russian Leg Sweep took Cage down, setting up a twisting standing moonsault. Some midkicks to a downed Cage would see Sydal get caught and try for Weapon X. Sydal landed on his feet, and hit a kick to the head after dodging a rolling lariat.
Cage finally got another big lariat, and looked for the Drill Claw, but Sydal countered into a hurricanrana, dumping Cage on his head. A jumping knee and a dive off the top saw Cage catch Sydal midair and nail the Drill Claw. The FTW Champion gets another big win. Will he add the TNT Championship to his collection? Should Ricky Starks get the shot instead? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
