YOSHI-HASHI made his return to NJPW the same night as Kazuchika Okada, but their careers took wildly different paths. Okada would go on to become one of the greatest IWGP Heavyweight Champions of all time, while YOSHI-HASHI failed to grab gold until the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championships back in 2020. Now, he finds himself back in Tokyo Dome in his biggest match since his return against Okada, as he won World Tag League alongside Hirooki Goto – and now has a chance to win more gold as they meet the Tag Team of The Year for 2021, Dangerous Tekkers.

    Dangerous Tekkers Start Fast

ZSJ would kick this one off against YOSHI-HASHI, and nail a big uppercut before being hit with a double shoulder tackle. YOSHI-HASHI would get taken to the mat as Taichi got the Greco Roman Throat Hold on Goto. ZSJ took YOSHI-HASHI to the ramp and hit a neck crack, before applying a chokehold in the middle of the ring.

All limbs were tied up, but YOSHI-HASHI was near enough to the ropes that one good push got him to freedom. Taichi tagged in and applied the throat hold, before showing the referee what a choke looks like – for comparison sake. YOSHI-HASHI would finally get free with the Headhunter, before Goto got the tag. Running wheel kick into the bulldog would get two on ZSJ, before Taichi ran him down with a lariat.

ZSJ nailed the PK on Goto, but he’d roll back and hit a desperate lariat. Next lariat attempt saw ZSJ catch Goto with a crucifix submission, and YOSHI-HASHI was stopped from the save with the Stretch Plum. Goto would get free before taking the chokeslam from Taichi, who ripped his pants off for Holy Zack Driver. ZSJ would nearly get caught with a flash pinfall, but got out at two.

    YOSHI-HASHI Continues His Golden Dreams

Goto would have to survive the European Clutch, but was able to get the tag to YOSHI-HASHI. Taichi would meet him with some heavy kicks in the middle of the ring, but YOSHI-HASHI was ready to lay in some heavy chops – before being dropped for the two count. YOSHI-HASHI was in danger of Zack Mephisto, but was able to counter.

A superkick to ZSJ and Dragon Suplex to Taichi, before a left arm lariat for a two count. Karma was set, but instead Taichi was fed into Goto for the Ushigoroshi. Shoto would land, but ZSJ was ready to make the save. ZSJ would take GYW – but Taichi would be able to fight free and get the Gedo Clutch – but YOSHI-HASHI will not quit.

ZSJ grabbed the ankle lock, but had to move to Goto, who countered and Shoto would take him out. Taichi was alone and tried for Black Mephisto, but YOSHI-HASHI nailed a perfect Canadian Destroyer, Goto the GTR, and a combo neckbreaker for the win! For the first time in his career, YOSHI-HASHI is IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion!

Hiromu Takahashi & El Desperado Waste No Time

The last time El Desperado and Hiromu Takahashi met, it was during Best of The Super Juniors – and thirty minutes went by in a flash. As they sat in the ring pondering the time limit draw, a promise was made to meet again in Tokyo Dome. Hiromu Takahashi would have to win Best of The Super Juniors to make this happen, and Desperado had to remain champion. Both men did their part, and tonight they will bring their special breed of violence to the Tokyo Dome.

Decked out all in white, Desperado would hit the ring for his biggest match ever. Second from the top on January 4th, and he’d meet his rival fast in the middle of the ring for some forearm blows. They’d move to chops, the impact echoing throughout the Tokyo Dome. Skin was already starting to blister on both men from the blows, but they kept on going.

Forearm blows caused knockdowns, but neither man stayed down. Hiromu got a lariat into the corner, before going for the “D” submission off a snap powerbomb attempt, before Desperado was dropped with a high angle German Suplex – not even getting a pinfall attempt. Hiromu wanted a pop-up powerbomb, but was sent to the floor with a hurricanrana before a cannonball senton wiped him out.

Desperado quickly got a receipt with the Sunset Powerbomb off the apron, with both men wiped out until the count of 19. They’d pull themselves into the ring, and go back to square one with some heavy strikes. Yells of passion came from Hiromu as he got the better of the exchange, and Desperado had no defense as his jaw was slammed again and again.

    Finally Defeating His Biggest Rival

The death valley driver into the corner was blocked, before Desperado nailed a spinebuster and went right into Guitarra de Angel before a huge Frog Splash. Pinche Loco was set, but Hiromu countered out before taking two forearms right to the jaw. Desperado would run into the belly to belly suplex into the corner, crashing down hard on his head.

Shotgun dropkick dropped Desperado before Dynamite Plunger for the two count. A crucifix pin nearly ended it for Desperado, before attempting Pinche Loco, before Hiromu almost got Time Bomb II. It was a struggle for control as they passed the ten minute mark, and Desperado would look to lock in Numero Dos – but Hiromu countered out.

Victory Royale would be met by El Es Culero, but only got a two count. Hiromu blocked the right hand to the jaw with the superkick, before Desperado caught him with the Bastard Driver for a two count. Pinche Loco was blocked, and a superkick landed before Hiromu got punched in the jaw.

Finally, Pinche Loco landed, but Desperado got greedy and Hiromu blocked the second attempt into a flash pin for two. Desperado stayed the course, punched Hiromu in the jaw again and hit two Pinche Loco’s for the massive win!
