It’s time again for another episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, and thus another SmackDown results page! The show will commence in about ten minutes and below you’ll be able to see the results of the show, plus links to in-depth recaps! Watch this space!
Segment 1: In the opening segment, we saw Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville working out backstage, last minute warm-ups before their grudge match. They then emerged for the first match of the night. It was a pretty emotional bout as they got across their hate for each other nicely. Ultimately Rose’s anger cost her as she charged headlong into a pump knee that Sonya reversed into a roll-up for the victory.
Segment 2: The next match saw the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day team up with Lucha House Party against the Miz & John Morrison and the Forgotten Sons. In what was a truly mile-a-minute match in the closing moments, the Miz ended up getting the victory with a Skull Crushing Finale on Lince Dorado.
Segment 3: King Corbin talks up how he’s not even worried about the six man tag later and is thinking about Money In The Bank instead. Then, we get the return of Jeff Hardy. He comes out and has a stirring speech about how the fans are with him no matter how many chances he needs. Sheamus interrupts and talks about how people are finally sick of seeing every second chance wasted. Says he’ll be the one to finally put Jeff Hardy’s flame out for good. But when he gets into the ring, Jeff takes him down and nails him with the Swanton!
Segment 4: Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman confront each other in the ring. Bray repeatedly asks Braun to come home and wants to relieve him of the burden around his waist, the one thing that stands between them being together again. Braun doesn’t listen and guarantees victory at MITB. Drew Gulak and Daniel Bryan meet up with Otis Dozovic backstage.
Segment 5: Sasha Banks and Bayley squared off with Tamina and Lacey Evans. Tamina & Evans got the win, with Tamina pinning the champion just days before Money In The Bank.
Segment 6: In the main event, we had King Corbin teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro against Daniel Bryan, Drew Gulak and a mystery partner who turned out to be Otis Dozovic. Corbin pinned Gulak with a Deep Six. Then a long brawl goes on, effectively a fight to see who can get the meaningless symbolic MITB win. Corbin eventually pulls it off.
