Once upon a time, Shane Taylor & Kenny King were allies in The Rebellion. That was long ago, and when Kenny King screwed Taylor during his match with RUSH for the ROH World Championship? Things got intense. Tonight, as an era of ROH closes – they meet in perhaps the last Fight Without Honor ever. Kenny King is done with the expensive suits and rich lifestyle of La Faccion Ignorables – he’s going back to his roots for a fight.
There Is No Honor Left Between These Two
King started with a spray of water into the face of Shane before they clashed. Shane would send King outside, and ricocheted him off the barricades and chairs. Steel chair in hand, Shane would stalk King, and swing for the fences – getting the ring post instead. King would try to take advantage, but was thrown with a back body drop.
Back in the ring, King nailed an enziguri before being beaten in the corner. A table at ringside was waiting, and King took both men down through it with the Blockbuster. King would grab a kendo stick, and get back into the ring. Shane followed suit, grabbing one of his own. King was the better sword fighter, getting Shane in the midsection and the back.
The camel clutch was applied with the Kendo Stick, before King grabbed a trash can. Shane would get back into the fight with the urange into the trash can and beat King down with a kendo stick. Another table was set up, with King on it for the running splash off the apron. Shane Taylor found another table, this one coming with a parade of streamers.
Shane Taylor Goes Further For The Win
King got the Eddy Gordo kick, before lifting Shane up for a Death Valley Driver through the table in the corner. The ladders would come into play, with King setting one up across the ring & barricade. Shane shoved one into the ring, and the commentary was having a great time knowing that they can say anything because well, tonight’s the end.
Three ladders were brought into the ring, with King watching as Shane set one up between the others. He’d use the setup, climbing high and crashing down off the ladder with the frog splash. Shane somehow survived, and nailed a big forearm shot and the Welcome To The Land driver for a two count.
King & Shane fought on the ladder between the ring & barricade, 500lbs on one ladder as they traded blows. Shane was there to nail the Marcus Garvey Driver through the ladder, King being thrown into the ring for more! It took too long make the pin, and King was able to kick out. Steel chair in hand, Shane hesitated and King told him to “F*cking do it”. He did, and one big chair shot and a second Marcus Garvey Driver on a steel chair ended this one.
An emotional and downright nasty hardcore brawl between good friends turned bitter enemies. Match Rating: 4.25/5 (**** 1/4)
After this match, CM Punk would make an appearance. He was a big part of the past of ROH, but who knows what the future holds. ROH helped many get started, and people shouldn’t be upset it’s over – just damn happy it happened. The fingerprints of ROH are all over the industry. Most top guys from top companies came from Ring of Honor, and CM Punk is proud of his spot in that history.
Another person proud of their spot in ROH history is Rok-C. Rok-C was the first ever ROH World Women’s Champion, set to carry the division as it rebuilt itself from a state of ruin. Tonight, she defends at Final Battle – End Of An Era against Willow Nightingale, a match which should show just how good this division could have been.
Willow & Rok-C Leave It All In The Ring
This one would kick off with some chain wrestling, with Willow showing her power and size advantage. Rok-C was unable to take Willow over with the headlock takeover, and Willow has answers for everything in the early going. She’d get a moonsault knee strike, before being thrown into the corner for the cannonball splash.
Willow would look for the powerbomb, and Rok-C was able to counter out. She’d try to roll Willow up, but was caught and slammed down with the right angle slam. Rok-C got some heavy chops before a big hurricanrana. A thesz press would follow, and the fighting spirit of Rok-C is impressive.
She’d apply the Rok-Lock, but Willow broke free. Some heavy forearms would go to Rok-C before the pounce almost sent her out of the ring. Rok-C latched onto Willow’s foot as she was thinking about the moonsault. She’d look for Code-Rok, and Willow blocked into the Crunchy for a two count. Moonsault was the plan again, but Rok-C was able to stop it and set up the powerbomb.
Willow came back with the stalling superplex and the moonsault, but Rok-C wasn’t giving up. The Babebomb was coming, and Rok-C knew to counter out. Another Code-Rok was attempted, and this time it landed for the win!
A great match from what could have been one of the best women’s divisions of 2022. Rok-C is one of best up and coming names in women’s wrestling, and it’s hard to not be a fan of Willow. Match Rating: 3.75/5 (*** 3/4)
After the match, Deonna Purrazzo would come to the ring. She’s mainly in Impact, but spent years in ROH. Rok-C was shocked, but it seems that Rok-C got some attention over her short reign. She wants that belt, and Rok-C is a fighting champion. Purrazzo wants Rok-C to come to Impact Wrestling and to bring that belt with her.
Will Impact Wrestling sign Rok-C? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
